Connectivity Requirement:  Video/Internet access to Zoom.  You will receive specific instructions once you register.

Taught by:  Gregory S Johnson, PT, FFFMT, FAAOMPT, Co-Founder of IPA and FMT

This webinar is designed to impart an understanding of the interrelationship between the abdominal, thoracic, and pharyngeal pressure systems to provide core stability and support during dynamic functional activities.  Research and clinical evidence are presented to create a clinical reasoning system in which a practitioner can utilize manual and motor learning skills to better enhance a patient’s CoreFirst® strategies for posture and movement through pressure systems interventions.

Objectives

      • Identify the anatomical structures of each pressure system
      • Correlate dysfunctions in each pressure system to inefficient posture
      • Practice FMT assessment and treatment strategies for normalizing the pressure systems during guided lab sessions
      • Experience motor learning strategies for effectively utilizing the pressure systems to enhance posture and movement

Techniques To Be Taught:

      • Ischial Abduction
      • Pelvic Floor Facilitation
      • Diaphragm Elongation
      • Resisted Breathing
      • Sternal Mobilization
      • Hard Palate Mobilization
      • Glottis Mobilization
      • Facilitation of muscles of pharynx and tongue

Pre-Course Work:

      • Review MNM video
      • Review SPCS video

It is strongly recommended that you have a subject on which you can practice for the observation, palpation, and treatment guided lab sessions, and a treatment table for lab sessions.  Your subject should be available from noon (12:00 pm) to 5:00 pm Eastern Time.
