Bio
Joel Kim graduated from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California, with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He earned his bachelors from University of California Irvine in Sociology and History and later returned to school to earn his clinical doctorate, earning awards among the graduating class and a recognition from faculty. As a result of his life experience, he truly enjoys working with patients from many walks of life.
Joel's passion for the human movement system stemmed from his addiction to endurance sports while benefiting from skilled manual therapy throughout many racing seasons. As a result, he's completed an Ironman and an ultra-marathon. He's also been a head coach for fundraising for first-time half-marathoners and century riders. He's been on the board for a local triathlon club. He's also enjoyed training and racing for a plethora of endurance races to include run races, century rides, open water swimming, swim meets with a local masters swim team, triathlon races, and even the occasional "mud run." He's placed podium in a handful of these age group races.
Joel is a life-long learner. When not working--together with his wife--Joel enjoys raising future contributing members to society: his two sons. Life happens. He believes that the IPA approach will help you to identify your mechanical, neuromuscular, and motor control deficits so that you can meet your fullest potential possible. Through Functional Manual Therapy, he wants to help other addicted endurance athletes and active moms and dads to enjoy their lives in order to realize their optimum potential.
