 FMT FELLOWSHIP

The Institute of Physical Art and Johnson and Johnson Physical Therapy believe that one-on-one clinical mentorship is the most effective method of developing, refining, reinforcing and assessing advanced manual therapy clinical skills.  The purpose of the FMT® Fellowship is to provide an intensely mentored one to three year on-site or flexible clinical fellowship in orthopedic Functional Manual Therapy® for experienced Physical Therapists who have obtained CFMT® designation from the Institute of Physical Art's Functional Manual Therapy® certification program to accelerate their training.

  •  Extensive one-on-one mentorship in Functional and Orthopedic Manual Therapy.
  •  Received APTA/AAOMPT Accreditation May 2007.
  •  Initiated at Johnson & Johnson Physical Therapy, Steamboat Springs, CO in 1998 under the direction of The Institute of  Physical Art

THE INSTITUTE OF PHYSICAL ART

The Institute of Physical Art, established in 1978, offers post professional continuing education courses for Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, and Occupational Therapists, as well as certification and fellowship programs.  The curriculum focus is on Functional Manual Therapy® (FMT) and Movement Reeducation.  It is our philosophy that, through the completion of a comprehensive and cohesive series of integrated continuing education courses, certification, residency and fellowship programs, physical therapists can achieve a greater level of clinical competence.
